Symantec antivirus server not updating


It is enabled through default between servers and its managed clients.When it comes to VDTM, it is important to update at least one server so that all the computers in the network are updated.

The VDTM is an automated solution for virus definition distribution.I don't think it is an issue of getting the virus definition. Well, first of all - this site is really not a substitute for the Symantec's techsupport.If you have a support contract with them - I really suggest you contact them instead.Ive tried uninstalling at the server and reinstalling, (pushing)the client from the parent server but nothing helps.Ive checked symantecs knowledgebase but i cant find any thing usefull. Any ideas please Gary I had a problem where a def update failed to replicate and caused the server to basically become unresponsive. I removed SAV and all def files from common files, cleared temp etc and reinstalled.About a month ago, the Virus Definition File version date stopped updating and hasn't updated since - 3/26/2012 rev. The automatic update has continued to run everyday, downloading the latest definitions, but not updating the version date in the client. Sometimes it downloads an update successfully and other times it says the virus definitions are up to date.
